PASDO is one of the pioneers in raising child rights issues in the community. It brought agenda of protection of child rights to the community and authorities. It has been working on the issues of child abuse, child trafficking, etc. and strengthening the community’s action for ensuring the right to education. We facilitated the community in demanding rights of children under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 (RTE Act) and thus the implementation of the RTE Act was strengthened in the district through a process of Public Hearing from NCPCR on the petitions filed by SMDCs.
PASDO is actively involved in mobilizing the community’s action towards Bio-diversity Conservation and Sustainable environmental. Village communities have been facilitated for formulating Rules and Regulation for the protection of the Environment.
Adolescent Programme with the High Schools Students. This program is implemented Partnership with Principals Association of Recognized Schools (PARS ) in the Ukhrul District the objective to sharpen the knowledge of the students on the six issues viz. Child Rights, Human Rights, Substance Abuse, Sex Education, Environmental Education, and Gender. Sharpening the knowledge will help them build up capacity to fight against any human rights violation, abuse or resist peer pressure to substance abuse or delinquent behavior and sensitize other youths to the risks and consequences of substance abuse and other delinquencies, Environmental education is aimed at inculcating values of love and care for their environment and developing environment friendly lifestyle.
PASDO is also involved in the implementation of the Harm Reduction (Targeted Intervention) Programme among IDUS & their partners and female sex workers for the Prevention of HIV/AIDS and STI Transmission.
PASDO networks with the different alliance and network bodies such as United NGO Mission – Manipur, Manipur Alliance for Child Rights (MACR) for strengthening protection of child/women/ human rights and peacebuilding process in the region.
PASDO has been also organizing training on Skill Development and Capacity Building of Educated Unemployed Youths & Women on Food Processing in collaboration with different agencies such as DRDA, Ukhrul, ADRA, India, and IGSSS etc.
PASDO is one of the members of the Voluntary Action Network in India (VANI) to strengthen the voluntary sector. We are also a member of the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN).
